Escape the time

Today. Today. Where do I start. It was a blood, sweat and tears kind of day...literally.
From the moment I woke, to this moment I am typing away, tucked under the covers I realize my day has been a early one, a late one and a full one.

I took a cup of coffee and an old journal down to the beach for a early morning read. This journal was from a few years ago and as I read, happy streams of salt water poured down my face while the sun, in support, tried to dry my cheeks.

Feeling alive is one of the best breaths the body can endure. Being able to reflect on myself felt rejuvenating but more importantly, I felt proud of myself. For example, April.17th, 2013 I wrote, 'I have an idea.. to set up a website to sell my art and some of the proceeds will go to the environement! I need to look into this...’ Brit, you did it. Aug 31, 2014 you launched your website, you have SOLD art and not only that but you have started to share your creativity and your words.

One of my favourites, April 18th, 2013: ‘I hear the clock ticking and I feel the pressure to write something quick. What if our life, our bodies, didn't run on time? How much different our lives would be. Everything around us seems to tell the time; a clock, a phone, a watch, our cars, tv’s… Time seems to control our day to day lives. I would like to try living more days where you live by the sun and the moon. Wake up when your body feels ready, spend the day without pressures or schedules and when the stars come out we know we can make a wish and then drift off to dream land. That kind of day would include no thinking, just doing…whatever feels natural, whatever feels right.’

So today I did just that.
In this day and age, time will always be apart of our lives, it is just the way we tick. There is another way, where no clock is needed.
Put your time into the sun, the stars the moon, and the tidal cycles.

Knowing these days don't come as nearly as often as we would like...Breathe it in when you can, take the time out of your day (literally) for days like these, because
DAMN IT FEELS GOOD.

If you need a reminder of how good it feels to be alive, then do me a favour….

Place your hands together, let your thumbs rest over your heart, look down towards your hand and close your eyes. Take a deep inhale, then exhale. Feel your breath gently graze your hands as your heart beats into your thumbs, vibrating the energy that is held between your palms.

Today was a reminder to keep writing… journal writing, reflective writing, creative writing, ANY kind of writing you want. We need to give ourselves a little more credit for the things we do, because we all do amazing things everyday. Write em’ down, as our brains are so filled with day to day activities some moments are necessary to remember. They create these moments you can boast about and the ability to reflect back on our goals and wishes.

MAKE THINGS HAPPEN, because if you set your mind on it,
it will.
A pen and a paper is just the beginning.

The stars are shining bright tonight, so I made some extra wishes for you all.

DREAM BIG.

Sleep well.

Goodnight.
